Why Segue?
We chose Segue for our name because it represents the current condition of real estate as it relates to the largest segment of the population of the United States. As defined, it is to move smoothly from one idea, activity or condition to another. Adjectives including continuation, passage, pivot and shift reflect this idea many owner of real estate experience. Our goal is to help properly advise our clients and their “Trusted Advisors” to better understand the nuances specific to real estate ownership and transactions.
Baby Boomers Have Matured
The single largest asset class in the world is largely “unmanaged”
The US home ownership equity market is the single largest asset class in the world at an estimated $32 trillion with 83% of the average American wealth at retirement tied up in their home’s equity, and yet it remains largely an “unmanaged” asset class. The Boomer generation in particular is faced with a number of challenges as tax laws, government oversight and financial markets are rapidly evolving and changing as Boomers prepare for and manage their own retirement, address the needs of aging parents and settle parent’s estates in addition to planning and preparing for their own legacy issues. Competent, holistic advice and guidance is required now more than ever to help navigate these complex, dynamic real estate markets in order to obtain optimum results.
Our goal is to help facilitate engagement between Trusted Advisor and their Clients, empowering them to better manage all real estate assets and the corresponding liability side of the balance sheet; working alongside the existing financial and legal team providing insight and transactional support by evaluating financing strategies, preparing valuations, reviewing ownership structures and recommending buying, selling or exchange strategies to insure each real estate asset provides maximum benefit, contribution and strategic fit within the larger, overall financial plans.
Segue Real Estate Advisors (SREA) was created by a group of local real estate, tax and legal professionals who recognize a need to offer a unique approach of multi-disciplined planning for the largest pending wealth transfer of all time as the baby boomers move into retirement and pass wealth to the next generation. We recognize the need for the under served middle class to receive tailored services to address each client’s specific needs while planning for their next phase of life and for their transfer of wealth. Most transactional agents work in a silo for one- off transaction commissions without a comprehensive view of the client’s financial situation or goals. There are very few that can offer advice across the many disciplines of real estate ownership issues; income tax, property tax, management and estate planning issues to name a few.
To address this need, we decided to combine our 90+ years of professional experience, $1.0+ billion of transactional experience and our educational backgrounds in finance, accounting, tax and law to create SREA. The Principals of SREA offer experience in both Mortgage Lending & Real Estate, successfully funding and closing thousands of Residential and Commercial Real Estate transactions. Segue Real Estate Advisors (SREA) is an independent, conflict free, fully diversified and integrated real estate company focused entirely on creating long-term value for our clients.
